Laser Lipolysis

Laser Lipolysis

Laser Lipolysis (Laser Lipo) is a popular treatment utilising laser technology to target fatty areas, breaking down cells and reducing fat in the area. Laser pads will be secured in place using straps, and the lasers will break down the fat cells.

Q.      What body areas do we cover with Laser Lipolysis?

  • ANY! All areas with fatty tissue may be a target, however, the most popular areas are:
  • Hips, thighs, abdomen, back, and tops of arms

Q.      How does it work?

Laser pads are placed onto the skin, and held in place using straps. The laser penetrates deep in to the skin, targeting the fat cells. The fat cells are broken, allowing the contents to be released into the body, highlighting to the body that it is needing to be taken away by the natural waste system (lymphatic system). If you pair this with a healthy lifestyle and exercise, the results are drastically enhanced.

Q.      Is it safe?

Absolutely, this is a natural body process. We are simply using laser technology to start the removal process. As there is added strain on the lympatic system, and the liver and kidneys to process the waste, it is not suitable for everyone, and a full honest medical history should be completed to ensure suitability - however, the processing of waste materials from the body is a completely natural process. You can support your body through the process by increasing the amount of water you drink, not putting additional waste into your body (healthy diet) and remaining active.

Q.      Does it hurt?

No. Some clients report mild discomfort as the pads heat, however, we urge clients not to try to bear the heat for a better effect as we also need to protect the skin. It is essential that the skin does not burn, otherwise you may be left with undesirable effects. It is also advised that you exercise after treatment, and receive a course of treatments - and therefore burnt or damaged skin can prevent this. After treatment, the area may feel warm

Q.      Do I need a patch test?

No, there is no patch test needed. It is essential that you have a full consultation with a therapist prior to treatment to ensure you are receiving the best treatment.

Q.      Do I need more than one treatment to get the full benefit?

Yes. Laser Lipolysis is a process, and therefore we recommend a course of 8 treatments. We suggest that you exercise for at least 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week and have laser lipolysis twice a week for 4 weeks, a minimum of 3 days apart. The healthier your diet, the less likely it is that you will regain the fat cells, and the more active you are, the more effective the treatment will be. We do not recommend treating more than one area at a time as the body needs to eliminate waste. After a course of 4 weeks, we suggest having 1-4 weeks break, and then starting a new area.

Q.      What other treatments compliment Laser Lipolysis?

Our recommendation is Radiofrequency. Radiofrequency will also help to reduce fat cells along with toning and firming the skin, and therefore, the two treatments work well together, however, this is done after the full course of laser lipo treatments. You can find out more about radiofrequency here
