Turn back the clocks with this comfortable, non invasive treatment - no pain, no downtime, no problem!

Every one has some areas of skin that they would like to improve. Skin rejuvenation is not just for the face... Treating a range of problems, including pigmentation, stage 1 acne, broken capillaries and rosacea,  fine lines, stretch marks and superficial scar tissue, as well as stimulating new collagen and elastin for a general lifted and toned effect that will leave you confident and happy.

Q.      What body areas do we cover with IPL?

  • Individual Shot - designed for small problem areas that are not large enough to consider a full area, e.g. a small scar
  • Facial areas - sides of nose, lines around the mouth, jaw line, forehead, eye area
  • Body areas - neck, breast, upper arms, hands, buttocks, decolletage, thigh, & abdomen
  • We also offer packages with combinations of areas, saving you time and money!

Q.      What is Intense Pulsed Light?

Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL is a variable wavelength of light. It is similar to a laser beam. The light source is directed through a filter, which gives the light source a colour. This colour penetrates the skin, and seeks pigments and blood vessels in the skin. This beam damages those pigments, causing the skin to repair the micro-injury, thus bringing new collagen, elastin and fresh bloody supply to the skin.

Q.      Do I need a patch test?

Yes, IPL skin rejuvenation treatments will require a patch test. Not only is it crucial that you have a patch test to ensure the skin will not burn or be too sensitive to the light source, it is essential that you have a full consultation with a therapist prior to treatment to ensure you are receiving the best treatment to address your skin issues. The same machine treats many different problems - for your treatment to be successful, we need to carry out a full consultation.

Q.      Do I need more than one treatment to get the full benefit?

Yes, we recommend a course of 6 treatments. To enable the skin to continue to treat the problem, it will need to be treated on more than one occasion. You will need to leave the skin to repair between treatments, although this process won't be visible on the surface - so you will be able to continue with your normal activities. We suggest one treatment every 4 weeks.

Q.      What other treatments compliment IPL Skin Rejuvenation?

Our recommendation is Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a skin resurfacing treatment, using diamond tips to remove the dead skin cells. You can read more about microdermabrasion here. Your therapist can suggest a suitable course of microdermabrasion and IPL treatments together to treat your skin quickly and effectively. Other treatments that support IPL are (certain) chemical peels and a good skin care routine.

Q.      What pre-care advice should I follow?

For full pre and aftercare details, please download our treatment advice sheet below.

To make your treatment run smoothly, and to get the most time out of your appointment, try to:

  • Attend your appointment without make-up or products on the area to be treated
  • Avoid tanning prior to treatment
  • Be prepared with sun protection suitable for the area after treatment. This should be an on-going skin care treatment, but definately immediately after and between IPL treatments.

Q.      What after-care advice should I follow?

For full pre and aftercare details, please download our treatment advice sheet below.

To enhance your treatment, and ensure your rejuvenation is as effective as possible:

  • Avoid direct UV exposure after treatment, and use SPF 30+ throughout the full course of treatments.
  • Avoid direct heat on the area as the IPL will have heated the epidermis
